چکیده
Aim: Monocyte to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ratio (MHR) is a new and easily measurable marker positively associated with inflammation. In this study, we aimed evaluate if there was relationship between MHR the risk of presence symptomatic plaque in patients intermediate carotid artery stenosis. Materials Methods: A total 179 who had 50%-70% stenosis were included retrospective cohort study. Patients assigned into two groups based on (n=104) asymptomatic (n=75) group. Groups compared terms MHR. Predictive role for investigated. Results: significantly higher group (11.40 ± 4.24 vs 18.33 9.06, p < 0.001). > 13.48; 70.19% sensitivity 76.0% specificity prediction (AUC: 0.787, 95% CI: 0.720–0.840, 0.001) univariate analysis age, gender, hemoglobin, neutrophil count, lymphocyte neutrophil-to-lymphocyte (NLR), smoking, plaques. (OR:1.330, hemoglobin (OR:1.441, = 0.013) found be significant independent predictors plaques multivariate analysis, after adjusting other factors. Conclusion: plays moderate artery.

Association of Neutrophil/Lymphocyte Ratio with Plaque Morphology in Patients with Asymptomatic Intermediate Carotid Artery Stenosis
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Non-calcified carotid plaques are more unstable than calcified plaques, and they are associated with a higher risk of rupture, thromboembolism, and consequently, stroke. The purpose of the present study is to compare calcified and non-calcified plaques that cause intermediate carotid artery stenosis with respect to neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR). SUBJECTS AND METH...
متن کاملThe cytokines within the carotid plaque in symptomatic patients with internal carotid artery stenosis
UNLABELLED The aim of the study was the evaluation of the inflammatory cytokines within atheromatic carotid plaque. MATERIALS AND METHODS The experiment was carried out on 100 symptomatic patients with internal carotid artery stenosis that underwent carotid endarterectomy. Every patient had the wall of the carotid artery resected during organ harvesting surgery in order to evaluate some cytok...
متن کاملHigh -density lipoprotein cholesterol as a predictor for diabetes mellitus
Background: Diabetes is a prevalent chronic disease around the world. To evaluate risk of diabetes comprehensively, we developed a score model for the risk prediction with HDL-C as a protective factor. Methods: We extracted physical examination data of 2728 individuals. The data contain 18 demographic and clinical variables. To identify the statistical significant feature variables, the backwa...
متن کاملSymptomatic Patients With High-Grade Carotid Stenosis
Background and Purpose The importance of carotid plaque ulceration as a cause of cerebral ischemic symptoms remains uncertain. Moreover, its prominence in symptomatic patients with severe carotid stenosis is unknown. Methods The association between angiographically denned plaque ulceration and risk of subsequent stroke was assessed using Cox proportional hazards regression in 659 patients with ...
متن کاملCarotid angioplasty and stenting in a patient with high grade stenosis of Internal Carotid Artery associated with both vertebral arteries and contralateral carotid occlusion
Severe internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis is a common cause of cerebrovascular accident (CVA) in middle-aged patients. Contralateral carotid occlusion (CCO) in patients with severe ICA stenosis is associated with high risk of CVA. Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is associated with more complications in patients with CCO than those without CCO. In this study, we present the case of a 61-year-ol...
